5 tips for starting a beauty blog
Use only high quality images
These days, high-quality images are important for any type of blog. It can increase engagement and make your blog look more professional. If you’re using stock photography, you’ll probably have to invest some money to download high-quality photos.
However, we recommend purchasing images for your blog rather than using free images, as paid images also help with Google rankings and social media engagement.
My favorite place to get high-quality images for blog posts and social media is Canva Pro. I mainly use professional images because they are much more beautiful (there is no limit to the number of images you can use per month).
Recommend products you use
It has been proven that Google ranks content based on personal attributes. If you use the product yourself, you can also provide direct feedback and add your own spin to get an edge in search results.
Add your own images
Google prefers original photos (versus stock photos). Adding your own photos will not only help your post rank higher in search results, but it will also help the photo itself rank better in Google Image Search (a Google search for photos only). Google always prioritizes unique and original photos over stock photos found everywhere.
Post consistently to your blog and social media accounts
Decide on a schedule that you can stick to and start blogging according to the plan. There is no point in posting 10 posts in the first month, and the next month he posts 1 post because he doesn’t have time to write.
Posting regularly on your blog will naturally increase your traffic. Google will increase traffic to blogs that continually upload new content. After a few months of not posting to your blog, you’ll start to see a drop in traffic.
So even if you’re planning on taking a vacation, prepare your posts in advance and publish them on a schedule you set yourself (or hire someone to do it for you).
Create a content update plan
Old content that is not updated will eventually disappear from search results. If his blog post about “His 5 Essential Skin Care Products You Need This Summer” hasn’t been updated since 2020, Google will be pushing it much farther.
why is that? Google is committed to providing our readers with the most relevant, up-to-date content. If you don’t update your posts for a while, the products you recommend are no longer relevant to Google, and new posts that your competitors have just published will appear on Google’s first page.
Make sure your content is up-to-date and useful to your readers. We recommend preparing a spreadsheet where you can track everything and set reminders.
