Welcome to the FastComet Family Album! Today, instead of jumping off skyscrapers, we meet a hero who tackles a different kind of web: the World Wide Web. We begin the action with his Atanas, a Level 3 Technical Support Specialist who has been in this role for almost three years. It’s quite a web-slinging experience. ️But Athanas is no ordinary hero. He doesn’t chase bank robbers. At FastComet, we take on a different kind of challenge: helping our users’ girlfriend websites conquer the her web.
What is your current FastComet title? How long have you been rocking it??
Hello, I’m a Level 3 Technical Support member at FastComet and have proudly been our customers’ go-to Spider-Man for nearly three years now. No, it’s not about swinging through skyscrapers (although that would be great), it’s about spinning solutions and servers for users. It’s been quite a journey to tackle the technical challenges and keep our users’ online spaces safe and healthy. I didn’t think about how long I would be here because joining FastComet was definitely one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. Working with talented people and taking part in exciting projects is a valuable experience that further fuels my passion for the IT industry.
Describe a typical day at FastComet in three emojis
A typical day takes ☕ a lot of time. We then prepare a good music playlist 🧠 to solve technical challenges, develop solutions, and provide a satisfying user experience 😉
Mr. Athanas, what motivates you about your role in FastComet?
What excites me about my role at FastComet is the sheer satisfaction I get when I see a customer’s face light up after solving a complex technical hurdle. I remember a small business owner who almost cried when his website went down right before a big promotion. We worked together all night troubleshooting every angle and were finally able to get the site back online. The relief and gratitude I received in the email the next day was the best reward for me. Knowing that our work can have a tangible impact on people’s businesses and dreams keeps me interested.
rapid fire round
- Coffee or tea? Coffee all the time! You must always remain calm when dealing with these digital dilemmas.
- Cat or dog? I’m definitely a dog person. I recently said goodbye to my beloved husky, Betty, who was my dear companion for 12 years.
- Are you an early riser or a night owl? Given the ever-waking nature of the internet and the unpredictability of technical issues, I’ve adapted to both aspects. We’re always on standby to deal with any website issues you may have.
The internet never sleeps, but you do! What are your hobbies when you’re not working?
Outside of the digital world, I unleash my inner champion volleyball player! Believe it or not, I played him professionally until he was 22 years old. That competitive spirit lives on in my wonderful hobby team “Нямат Резение” (which humorously means “no solution”). Perfect name for the team, right? Outside of volleyball, I love a good puzzle to challenge my brain, ace table tennis (be careful!), and enjoy movie marathons with friends.
Mr. Atanas, what is your biggest professional or personal goal this year?
Looking to the future, my main professional goal this year is to constantly improve my skills and expertise in my field. I aim to continue learning and growing by staying on top of the latest advances and trends in technology. Additionally, I would like to take on more challenging projects and actively contribute to the team’s success.
My goal on a personal level is to prioritize my health and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This includes making time for activities that bring you joy and fulfillment outside of work, such as spending quality time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, and focusing on personal growth and development. included.
confess! Have you ever made a weird typo when replying to a customer?
My name may be a little surprising, but I’m from Bulgaria. This means that it uses a different alphabet called Cyrillic. Let’s say one day, after drinking a particularly strong cup of coffee (perhaps you forgot to switch the language on your keyboard), you end up having a surprisingly pleasant conversation in Bulgarian with a customer from Asia. They were sure I was speaking “Chinese” to them, but hey, everyone has those days. The best part? They were good sports about it and we had a good laugh. These unexpected moments make this job even more enjoyable.
What’s the weirdest technical question you’ve ever been asked?
I once had a customer who was having trouble connecting and sending messages. After some communication I noticed that they were mentioning his Skype and Viber issues while I was troubleshooting the email issue. Even though everything was working fine, it took me a while to figure out the miscommunication as I was checking all the possible issues that could be causing the problem. When we finally realized our mistake, we both had a good laugh.
Working remotely also comes with perks! What do you like most about being able to work from anywhere?
One of the best things about working remotely is its flexibility. Being able to work from anywhere means you can create your ideal working environment. I have a better balance between work and personal life, have more control over my schedule, and can spend more time with my family and friends.
What advice would you give someone considering a career in technology?
To anyone considering a career in the tech industry, I would say: Embrace the journey, my friend! Don’t let setbacks dampen your enthusiasm and stay curious like a cat. And don’t forget that learning is the game. The world of technology is a vast playground waiting to be explored. Dive headfirst in and you never know what surprises you might discover.
Thank you, Atanas!
